GEOCITIES - This is a very good place that will host webpages. This is the place where "The Lot" is hosted. It provides a wide variety of tools and accessories for webpage developers. You can upload as many files as you wish, using their FTP or EZ-UPLOAD utility. They have a place for people who have never used the internet or created webpages to create them without any coding at all. They have counters, guestbook, and 11MB of space. They now allow you to make subdirectories. It also comes with a free e-mail address.
The downside... you get a pop up ad if you don't place a navigation system called a GEOGUIDE.
FORTUNE CITY - This is the place where this website is hosted. They have a wide variety of tools for you. Not as many as GEOCITIES, but there are still quite a few. It is a little slower than GEOCITIES. A good thing is that they give you 20MB of space for you to host your website, images, sounds and anything else you want on it. They have a place for people who have never used the internet or created webpages to create them without any coding at all. They also have FTP and an EZ-UPLOAD place for uploading your files.
The downside... they place an ad on the top of your page automatically. You can take it off, but if you do, then they'll place it back on within 24 hours.
TRIPOD - I don't recommend this site to anyone. This place provides you with 11 MB of space for webpages and anything else and allow you to create subdirectories. They have EZ-UPLOAD and FTP for sending your files, or you can create them online. They have an advanced and beginner editors.
The downside... is that you get an annoying popup ad window, and there is nothing that you can do to stop it.
ANGELFIRE - This place has some good features. It provides free counters and webspace for anything you want. It also provides you with free e-mail.
The downside... is that you get more popup windows and it is very slow.
XOOM - this place provides you with webspace for webpages and allows you to create as many files as can fit in the space that they give you. This site is very good. They also give you free chatrooms for your site if you want it.
The downside... is that it can be very slow at times, and frequently doesn't allow you access to your files.
