    SEX! Are you ready?

We asked teens when they thought that they would be ready for sex. If you're a parent, you may be shocked at the results.

TEENS! They're everywhere. At the mall, at the park, downtown, and just sitting on the side of the street. Chances are if you're a parent, you have one of your own. Parents believe that most male teens are out to use females as sex toys. That just isn't true.

When male teens were asked in an anonymous poll, 56% of male teens said that they would wait to have sex until they were married, 20% said that they would have sex before they were married if they felt that they had found their special someone. The remaining 24% said that they were already sexually active.

When females were asked this question, 64% said that they would wait until marriage. 15% of them would have sex if they really loved the person, and the rest (21%) said that they were already sexually active.

I asked my parents what they felt about the results. Their first words out of their mouth were "Where do you fit in?". For many teens, they feel that they have to lie to their parents about things like this. Many schools have anonymous polls where students get asked various questions. Students will tell the truth about sex more if it is an anonymous poll.

In the locker rooms at school, if you're a guy, then you've probably heard guys saying that they scored with some really hot girl at the school. I'll be that if you went up to that girl and asked her, she'd probably say that she didn't. Guys are just worried about their prescious ego.

The truth is that most people want to wait until they're married. Does this make sense? Of course. It means that you haven't loved someone else the same way that you love this person. It's also safer, because you don't have as high a risk for STD's (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). So maybe you should talk to your parents and just reassure them that you are planning on waiting, or that you are sexually active. They have a right to know, and then they can maybe set up regular tests for STD's.
